Join us for an afternoon of Newt Fun at "Frog Pond," located between Spring Lake and Annadel Parks.  Despite the local name of this pond, it is also home to the Californian Newts who use this pond for making babies!  We will get to see the adults as well as the amazing gelatinous eggs.

This is about 1 mile round trip with moderate inclines and rocky terrain.  Not stroller friendly, but great for hiking backpacks or wraps!

SRMC Member Lisette will be leading our adventure.  Her self intro:

Hi! I’m a mom and I love amphibians. In my professional life, I work on public lands at the junction of conservation science and community engagement. I am fortunate to have spent most of my adult life studying frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders in some way. (I even got a PhD out of it!) Frog Pond is such a special spot that is easy to visit with kids and I can’t think of a better place to share excitement about all things amphibian.
